Bamako: Gunmen opened fire on a UN peacekeeping mission in the African state of Mali, killing four soldiers.

Dozens of unidentified gunmen stormed a UN peacekeeping mission in the northern African city of Aguilar, according to the International News Agency. The peacekeepers also put up strong resistance, with clashes between the two continuing for several hours. Free

A spokeswoman for the UN peacekeeping mission claimed that the number of attackers on the convoy was between 100 and 120, armed with sophisticated weapons. More than 50 attackers were also killed in retaliation.
