Jakarta: A fierce collision between a cargo ship and a fishing boat in Indonesia has left 17 fishermen missing and their hopes of being found alive have been dashed.

According to the International News Agency, a fishermen’s boat collided with a cargo ship in the Indonesian Sea of ​​Java and overturned, killing 32 people. A team of divers rescued 15 people during the search operation and moved them to safety. However, 17 people are still missing.

A Coast Guard spokesman said a rescue team of five divers was still searching for the other 17 missing people, but their hopes of finding them were slim.

The fishing boat was going for deep fishing in the sea which is an illegal act. The ship that collided with the ship was a “bulk carrier Hubco Pioneer” with a capacity of about 30,000. Indonesian flags were flying on both the ship and the boat.

The Economic Advisory Council will make recommendations for the implementation of the macroeconomic stability and reform agenda, while also playing a role in capacity building.

The notification issued by the Ministry of Finance further said that policy measures for the welfare of the citizens would be proposed through the council, which would help in further strengthening the fiscal and economic policies.
